Final Evaluation

I hoped to achieve a successful and developed film poster and trailer just like I said in my proposition. When it came to my production schedule  I had to make some last minute changes which I didn't predict to occur. I think that I have achieved my intended project as I have created a reasonable trailer and an great poster which contains interactive links to both the trailer and a page with the unused leftover photos. We changed some minor features. we did this because we had issues with some of the sound effects being too quiet to be heard over the music in the background. The most successful part of the project and the part that made me most proud for me was the poster as I think I got it perfect unlike the trailer where there was some minor editing issues. I think that I need to further develop my editing skills bending the audio line on final cut pro by maybe going in the editing suite and practice doing the parts I found difficult. If I was to to do this assignment again I would likely change some of my methods for example I would try to avoid the music having random jump cuts because that made the background music uneven and sounding off.  I might also not rely on outside support so much and try to figure out the editing on my own to overcome this I will just use final cut more often and watch videos on youtube related to this.

My opinion of this project is a mixture of both positive and negative. Whilst I finally did complete the editing, the trailer still contained mistakes which could not be rectified due to time constraints.

My positive thoughts stem from the fact that despite making constant errors, I worked hard to correct and overcome these and I did get it finished in the end and to a good standard.

I have learnt how to use Photoshop more efficiently as I needed to use it a lot for the poster and I have also improved my knowledge of Final cut pro.

My most challenging point was the acting as I dislike being on camera and the editing as when I started the project my knowledge of it was very limited. Having to use final cut pro was a learning experience as I had to try to get better at it and I wasn’t very good at it originally.

I learned how to get better on various computer software sites like final cut pro.

Today because I still hadn’t gotten the trailer perfect and had to make some changes.

The programs I used would also be used if I worked for a proper media related company.

My lack of concentration got in my way along with programming as I found I possess a lack of knowledge in regards to the sight.

My team told me what to do and I carried it out to the best of my ability for example editing.

We collaborated with no one so it was none applicable.

Jack helped me with the editing segment which made it significantly more easy for me to accomplish. Working in collaboration with my peers has taught me additional skills. For example, how to sort the audio and cut the video segments

I helped during the filming by doing the part I was told to without question. However, I may have hindered the group with my lack of concentration.

I believe I met most of if not all my targets during this assignment as I was able to get all my work done prior to the deadline.

My greatest strength is my ability to meet deadlines which I have accomplished. I think I could.

I am most proud of my poster as it is almost perfect unlike the trailer which had flaws.

I would like to improve my editing skills by maybe going in the editing suite more often.

I would like to improve the trailer as some of the sound effects were too quiet for the backing music.

I could try to give them better and more helpful advice and maybe not ask them for help too much so they can get on with there own jobs.

I will be much more efficient with the editing site Final cut pro and I will be able to use more of the tools for example the blade tool.
